Education and Training Program

The purpose of our training program is to educate those who care for young children.  That means our classes are open to everyone, whether you’re a licensed child care provider, a family member caring for a relative, a friend or neighbor child care provider, a parent, a foster care parent, or a staff member of a child care center.  Our classes are available to you!
To review the most up-to-date class information in your area, visit the Minnesota STREAMS (Minnesota State Registry for Education and Meaningful Supports) To Quality website at www.mnstreams.org .

The MNStreams web site is divided into an informational portion and a section in which you can take action and see personalized reports, like your training transcript of CCR&R classes. The latter requires that you create a user profile and log in.

Registration Information

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all classes. Registration will not be accepted without payment. Make checks payable to Midwest CCR&R. A $20 fee will be charged for all NSF and/or returned checks.

No walk-ins are allowed. Only pre-registered and pre-paid students will have space reserved for them or receive training certificates.

Registration deadline is one week prior to the class. Classes with low registration one week prior to the class date will be cancelled.
Assume your registration is confirmed unless otherwise notified. We do not issue receipts.

Registration fees are not refundable. There will be no refund if a student does not attend a class. Credit coupons will be issued if CCR&R cancels a class.

No partial certificates will be given. You must attend the full class to receive a certificate.

All classes offered in the CCR&R training catalog fulfill the grant training requirement.

In consideration to the other class participants, please make your own child care arrangements, as child care is not available (unless otherwise stated) and children are not allowed at classes.
Definition of Training Hours
Most training sponsored by CCR&R is offered for clock hours.  One hour of training is equal to a 60-minute clock hour.  CEU credit is not clock hour training.  One CEU is equal to ten clock hours and must be issued by an accredited institution.  There is usually an additional charge for CEU credits.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

1. A credit will be issued for classes cancelled due to low registration (less than 5 participants) or due to weather conditions.
2. A credit will be issued for cancellations prior to the class date.  Credit can then be used for payment for future classes.
3. Refunds will not be given except in extenuating circumstances.
4. Extenuating circumstances will be considered and determined by the CCR&R staff.

Weather Cancellations

Cancellations due to weather will be made the day of the scheduled classes.  If a class is cancelled, we will put an announcement on our referral line:  800-890-5399.

What is a CDA?

A Child Development Associate (CDA) is an individual who has successfully completed the CDA assessment process and has been awarded the CDA Credential.  The CDA requires 120 hours of child care training in 8 subject areas.  The classes in our catalogs are identified by which of the 8 subject areas they fulfill.  For more information, contact the Council for Professional Recognition at (800)424-4310 or visit www.cdacouncil.org.
